![]() If they weren't good cars I wouldn't own two of them lol I still get compliments on both cars, tires are cheap, maintenance is cheap, they are comfortable and reliable to drive and they handle like a sports car and I know without a doubt that whenever I turn the key it'll start and get me where I need to go, I live in upstate NY where there is snow a lot and they both handle great with all season tires. I have two of these little cars a 2008 Ford Focus SeS and a 2009 Ford Focus SE and I have never had any issues with either car besides the basic maintenance, they both have high mileage on the odometer and still they get amazing fuel mileage, granted it's not a luxury car and it's not a race car but not a Toyota Corolla slow either, my only Gripe is the way Ford designed the rear drum brakes with the wheel bearing pressed in the hub, there are ways around that especially if you're mechanically knowledgeable by doing a disc break conversion it's easy and allows a lot better stopping distance, both of my cars still look and run like new and they are extremely cheap to maintain. If you love the comfort of the American cars of yesteryear, don’t mind driving an out of style vehicle, and happen across one of these beauties in great condition, it might be something to consider, but do be prepared to spend thousands of dollars as the car continues aging and needs repairs! There is nothing in today’s market as large and comfortable as the DeVille, and I wish we had kept mine and “refurbished “ it. The XTS was so disappointing I sold it in less than a year and purchased a Lexus. Last year, at about 190k, we traded (almost no trade in value) my ‘04 in on a 2018 Cadillac XTS, which, sadly, was no comparison in ride quality and comfort to the DeVille. The engine and transmission remained solid, however, until the last year I owned the DeVille, when the service engine light kept coming on and one of the cylinders began misfiring. per repair) issues over the years, but can’t recall what they were. There were a couple of other pricey (around $1,000. At about 60K the window regulators started breaking - every one broke at least once, two windows twice! Motor mounts broke around 100K, there was an axel issue, and at about 180K the car broke down with a serious cooling problem. The car did have some mechanical issues over the years, however. The split bench seats were incredibly comfortable, literally every passenger who ever rode in that car commented on how comfortable it was, and in my car the soft, perforated leather seats were heated and cooled. The interior was spacious, attractive, with nice amenities (lovely wood trim, leather seats, power everything), and well thought out - gauges easy to read, layout of controls made sense, there was even a double visor set up, where if you put the visor (with a slide out extension) to the side window a smaller visor was available to flip down in the front. ![]() Sure it handled like a boat, but cornering isn’t the reason you drive the DeVille, it’s all about the soft comfortable ride and the quiet, luxurious cabin. The DeVille was large and powerful with the Northstar V8 under the hood, and the ride was smooth as silk. I purchased a 2004 Cadillac DeVille in 2005, and drove it for fifteen years - it was absolutely my favorite car, there was nothing on the market I would rather have had - the ‘04 DeVille was the perfect for me! I would recommend the vehicle those who have problems probably should have taken the vehicle to their personal mechanic, mine came with me when I drove to purchase the SUV. I own Suzuki's luxury model so it's loaded with every option possible. ![]() It's the most comfortable vehicle I've owned and rides smooth on the road. I financed my vehicle and paid it off three years afterwards. I drove my vehicle everywhere from Tennessee, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois's, Minnesota, and even North and South Dakota. It had one minor problem wrong with it which it was my mistake for not checking after I bought it which was the rear wiper motor not working, I reported the problem to the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and they offered to fix it free of charge but due to the fact I bought the vehicle three states away I told them I would pay to get it fix, I was hoping the dealership would reimburse me for the cost but they said no. I bought my 2009 Suzuki XL7 in 2013 used it was a lease turn in with 42k miles on it.
